Coordinator cum Human Rights Campaigner Salman Yousuf Human Rights Campaigner and Coordinator(IHRS) Srinagar has completed 1yr & 2 months in 5 different Jails i.e. Kathua Dist. Jail, Baramulla Sub Jail, Kupwara Jail, Kotbhalwal Jail and Srinagar Central Jail due to his campaigning and documented several reports since last 24 years.
Salman Yousuf was arrested on 23-Sep-2016 in Bandipora’s Sumbal town. After his arrest he was shifted to Kathua Jail on PSA, which was extended many times.
Later on 15-Apr-17 High Court quashed his detention order but instead of releasing him, Police once again slapped PSA on him and shifted him to Kotbhalwal Jail Jammu.
Salman Yousuf is the key researcher of the JKCCS documentary titled Structure of Violence. Besides this he has also worked of IKS.
Due to continuous i detention his family especially children are suffering a lot as they can not continue their studies as Salman is the only bread earner for his family.
