Rs 80,000 Crore Won’t Stop Killings In Kashmir. Gowhar Is A Glaring Incident

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Rs 80,000 crore package is going to make no difference in this conflict ridden state of Jammu and Kashmir as brutalities, torture and human rights violation won’t end.

The glaring fact is that the day Modi announced a package at Sher-e-Kashmir Stadium, hours later a youth was killed by CRPF at Zainakote-in the outskirts of Srinagar.

Although PM Modi tried his best to transform Jammu and Kashmir into a new, modern, progressive, and prosperous state by announcing Rs 80,000 crore package but still failed to meet the aspirations of people in Kashmir.

”Any package that is being announced for Jammu and Kashmir will sell no purpose unless their prevails sustainable peace in the state,” said Shakeel Qalander, a social activist and member Kashmir center for social and developmental studies.

”Packages in Kashmir would have been better option if PM Modi would have taken an initiative to restore peace in the valley. The package would be accepted only if he would open the doors of dialogue internally and externally,” he said.

He further said that Kashmiris will keep their fingers crossed till the money is marked and analysed properly by the government.

Although people in Kashmir were aware about the manipulating political strategy of India, people who were optimistic enough about the Modi visit also termed it a useless visit to Kashmir.

President Kashmir Chamber, Sheikh Ashiq said they had very less expectations from PM Modi because he visited Kashmir after a long gap.

”The package for relief and rehabilitation is not enough for Kashmir. The expectations of people are no met by the package,” he said

He further called this initiative as injustice done to the people of Kashmir.

Although PM Modi talked about building castle in the air but Kashmiri people are well versed with the planned strategy and want justice not the castle in the air.

Political expert, Professor Peerzada Irshad Shah said Kashmir will never accept such packages neither the package announced by Modi is acceptable.

”We could not get provoked by such packages as it was a normal 5 year package. It is a not a relief package as this package is more stressed for building of roads and serving other such purposes,”he said.

He also stated that Chief Minister Mufti Mohammed Sayeed is playing a political strategy with the people of Kashmir.

Kashmir is facing an era of political turmoil and the stress should have been on restoring peace in the valley then boosting the economy of Kashmir.

Hurriyat chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq had earlier said no money can buy the aspirations of the people of Kashmir. ”This a political issue not an economic one,” he said.
