‘Stakeholders in Kashmir shall take opportunity to enter into dialogue’

Srinagar, Oct 23 : Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti Monday said that the political process on Kashmir was necessary at this time and hoped that the stakeholders in Kashmir shall take opportunity and enter into dialogue process.

According to the KNS correspondent, while talking to reporters here, Mehbooba said that she was happy that the centre has started the dialogue which is necessity of the time.




“The situation Kashmir is not well and people are fed up with the violence. So it is the right time to announce the dialogue process. If he centre has take a step, we including other stakeholders should also move a step ahead in cashing upon the opportunity and enter into the dialogue process,” Mehbooba said.

She said that political process is necessary beside the security measures.

“The representative announced by the centre is good human being and a man of credibility. He was involved in the dialogue process in North-east for a long time,” she said.

While announcing the centre’s sustained dialogue on Kashmir, Singh said that t former Director of IB, Dineshwar Sharma will initiate a sustained interaction and dialogue to understand legitimate aspirations of people in Jammu and Kashmir.

Mehbooba thanked the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Rajnath Singh and government of India for the announcement.

“It is a welcome step…. Something has started..It is a Confidence Building Measure and necessity of the time,” she said.

According to KNS, asked whether NIA action on separatists and some businessman will make the dialogue announcement credible, she said that security measures and political process are separate issues.




“Stakeholders should have concern as people are suffering and fed up with the violence,” she said, adding that the dialogue is open to all with no conditions on any side. (KNS)
