Omar gave ample powers to a common man to question Government: Tanvir

Srinagar, February 19th – Chief Minister Omar Abdullah’s Political Secretary Tanvir Sadiq on Wednesday said that Omar led coalition government during the last five years concentrated on revival of institutions of governance to bring in transparency and empower people to scan functioning of the government at all levels.

Speaking to various deputations from all across Kashmir province, who called on him at the Private office Srinagar the Political Secretary to Chief Minister, reiterated the government’s commitment for inclusive and equitable development of all regions and sub-regions of the State.

The Political secretary Tanvir Sadiq met with as many as 40 deputations from various areas of the Kashmir valley, like Kulgam, , Mohamadpora, Bugam, Nillow, pakerpora, J&K public administration forum who raised their grievances and demands.

Complementing people for “extending wholehearted support to Omar Abdullah to restore peace and tranquility and strengthen institutions for public empowerment, transparency and good-governance Tanvir said “We have given ample powers to a common man to question Government for its all actions, seek time bound delivery of services and be participant in the process of development,” he said and underlined this as basics of good-governance.

“The clear-cut public support to Omar Abdullah even in most challenging situations has helped in carrying forward peace and development agenda,” Tanvir said.

The Political secretary to Chief Minister while talking to various other deputations from Baramulla, Kupwara, Anantnag, Shopian,, said “Omar Sahib has legally empowered you to get services from the government departments in a fixed time frame,” adding that he has also given legal authority to the people to scan government functioning in all departments by asking questions on commissions and omissions and performance in various government departments under the Right to Information Act.
