Mufti carries legacy of killing youth in cold blood: Mirwaiz

Chairman Hurriyat (M) Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, who was placed under house arrest since Saturday morning, has strongly condemned killing of teenager student Suhail Ahmad Sofi and injuring of others in police and CRPF firing at Narbal.

Asserting that draconian law like AFSPA gives “legal license” to government forces to butcher Kashmiris at will, Mirwaiz said despite it is being the long held demand of Kashmiris to revoke it, every government in India rejects this demand and continues to hold them hostage to this law.”
“As the Kashmir Nation still mourns the death of the Tral youth, blood thirsty government forces today carried out another gruesome killing of innocent Kashmiri teenager at Narbal”,he added.

Mirwaiz said that laws like AFSPA are a convenient tool in the hands of the government, which facilitates their deplorable design of crushing and curbing the peoples genuine aspiration and rights, and helps them keep the people of kashmir under the yoke of indian hegemony. He said it is long overdue that the international community take note of this alarming situation and intervene to stop the bloodshed of hapless Kashmiris, adding that they should dischage their moral obligation of ending the aggressive policy pursued by the Indian troops against Kashmiris.

Mirwaiz said that the state government as always is an equal accomplice in these acts of shameless butchery and added that “it looks that the 2010 legacy of killing kashmiri youth in cold blood by the NC Government will be carried forward by the PDP led government. For the kashmiri people it has only been a change of one power hungry and heartless regime to another.”
