Cantonmemt Board Dual Control affects smooth Functioning of Hospital.

Srinagar, Mar 20, : Army Cantonment Board’s control has badly hampered smooth functioning of Valley lone children’s GB Pant Hospital here in Srinagar city.

The hospital was run under joint management of Army and Jammu Kashmir Government’s Health and Medical Education Department since 2005 when a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the two.

People’s Democratic Party leader and legislator from Sonawar Constituency Muhammad Ashraf Mir who presided a review meeting today in the hospital appealed Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to delineate the dual control agreement with the cantonment board of Hospital who are posing lot of hard ships and difficulties not only for the hospital in particular but the adjoining areas as well.During his vist lots of Garbage Disposal was found around hospital premises,public consciences has been locked by the cantonmemt Board.Mir said that a Big Mafia is involved in allotment of car parking & shop allotments around hospital.
Despite repeated requests no action has been taken for the overall devlopment of Sonwar,indranagar & Batwara.Ashraf Mir was instrumental in doing the drainge works worth 15 crores for the said areas and there has been no support and cooperation from the cantonmemt Board Authorities.

Mir reeased Rs 25 lakhs from his Constituency Development Fund to hospital for renivation and purchase of equipments like Radiant warmer and monitors for newly born Babies and restoration of Drinking water Facilities for the hospital.(CNS)
