Sopore, June 12(KNB): One militant killed in an encounter that broke out between security forces and militants in Sopore area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Tuesday night.
As per the reports, a cordon & search operation was launched jointly by police and security forces at Wadoora Payeen in Bomai area of Sopore following credible inputs about the presence of militants.
The search operation was going on when the hiding militant fired on the search party, forces retaliated leading to an encounter.
One militant was killed and his body was retrieved from the site of the encounter.
The identity and affiliation of the killed militant is being ascertained.(KNB)
