LOLAB VALLEY ELDERS ON ‘WATAN KI SAIR’

An Educational Cum Motivational Tour for the elders of Lolab Valley was flagged off from Gujjarpatti on 14 Jun. This 12 days ‘Watan Ki Sair’ sponsored by Indian Army under Op Sadhbhavana has been planned for 30 village elders of the remote ‘Lolab Valley’ of Kupwara district. The tour which was flagged off has been planned to take the elders to places like Udhampur, Amritsar, Hisar, Delhi and Ambala. The participants would get a rare opportunity to interact with people from different parts of the country and learn about their culture and traditions. They would also be visiting places of tourist importance as ‘India Gate’, ‘Red Fort’, ‘Qutub Minar’ and ‘Jamia Masjid’ in the capital and the ‘Golden Temple’ and ‘Jallianwala Bagh’ in Amritsar. In addition interaction with panchayat of a village near Ambala has also been planned. The aim of the tour is to allow the elderly people of Lolab Valley to the rich cultural heritage of the country.
