Little Musharraf succumbs, death toll mounts to 5

Srinagar, Feb 01 (KNB): 10-year-old Musharaf Fayaz of Datmudoor village who had suffered major injuries after a shell went off at the site of a gunfight on January 25 in Chaigund village of Shopian succumbs to his injuries at SKIMS Soura this morning. With his death, the number of civilians killed in Shopian since January 25 has reached five.

Meanwhile, thousands participated in the funeral prayers of Musharaf Fayaz of Datmudoor hamlet in Shopian on Thursday. Musharaf was laid to rest at his ancestral graveyard in his native village at Datmudoor.
A civilian Shakir Ahmad Mir was killed near the site of gunfight in Chaigund on January 25 while three civilians were killed after army opened fire on protesters in Ganowpora village on Saturday.
