Handwara 20 March(KNB):The lackadaisical attitude of the Judiciary can be gauged by the fact that even after 13 years , justice seems to be an improbable thing for Abdul Gani Shah of Langate Handwara whose 14-year-old daughter was abducted from Batpora village in Langate area of North Kashmir’s Kupwara District who was taken to a nearby orchard in Langate by four men in which two were non locals who brutally gangraped her and then murdered her and left her to die in a orchard.
The Parents of the victim are still running from pillar to post to get justice for their daughter who was raped and murdered on July 20, 2007.
The throat slit body of 14-Year old Tabinda was found from an orchard in Langate in North Kashmir’s Handwara on July 20 2007.
Talking to Kashmir News Bureau Correspondent the dejected brother said: “Today we are happy that Parents of Nirbhaya have got Justice but you can imagine how accused in Nirbhaya case were taking advantage of the loopholes in the system, as same is happening in our case because the people who are accused in this gruesome crime are using tactics to evade their execution, which has shaken our belief in the judicial system.”
“Justice delayed is justice denied, this is what I feel about our system after seeing the ongoing delays in the case of my Sister who was abducted, brutally gangraped, murdered and then left to die by her four abductors,” added Mr Masood Ahmad brother of the Victim while talking to Kashmir News Bureau”. His struggle for justice is going on since then.
“The case has been delayed for almost thirteen  years, it even happened before the unfortunate incident of Nirbhaya, but the case is yet to reach a logical end.The accused have been lodged in Central Jail Srinagar but we are not able to understand that why they have not been hanged till date but our fight for justice seems to be endless, as we do not have any support from the system, government, civil society and even media”told another relative of the Victim while talking to Kashmir News Bureau.
It is pertinent to mention that the four accused perpetrators who were involved in this Heart-wrenching gruesome crime are Mohd Sadiq Mir alias Saeda Choor, Azhar Ahmad Mir alias Billa, both residents of Langate, Mocha Jahangir Ansari of West Bengal and Suresh Kumar of Rajasthan.
“We appeal to Court and authorities to deliver justice immediately and an exemplary punishment should be given to the accused perpetrators in a speedy manner as I have limited resources to fight the legal battle but I will continue to fight until I get justice for my Sister,” told the brother of the Victim while talking to Kashmir News Bureau.(KNB)
