JKPM grieved over loss of lives in tragic road accident in Kishtwar: Advocate Sajad Sheikh

Seeks emergency measures to check repeated road accidents.

Srinagar, July 1,2019:-
Chief Spokesman, Jammu and Kashmir People’s Movement, Adv. Sajad Sheikh has expressed his profound grief and sorrow over the tragic road accident in kishtwar this morning resulting in on the spot death of 31 passengers
and seriously injuring
13 others.

In a statement issued on Monday Adv. Sajad Sheikh while extending heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved families criticized the government for its failure to curb increasing road accidents in various areas of the state particularly in Chenab valley, Peerpanchal region and Srinagar-Jammu National Highway.

He said that the ill fated Mini Bus JK17-6787 that met the tragic accident in kishtwar this morning, while plying from Keshwan to Kishtwar was hey beyond capacity.

He said the tempo traveller that met fatal accident in Peer Ki Gali the other also happened due to reported rash and negligent driving, in which many budding school children lost their lives.

Repeated fatal road accidents in various areas of the state has totally exposed the failure and mismanagement in the traffc and transport departments besides inadequacy of road infratsructure.

“JKPM seeks a thorough time bound probe into these road accidents and demands severe punishment to the concerned field agencies who are found guilty of laxity in their duty, ” Chief Spokesman, Adv Sajad Sheikh has urged while praying for eternal peace to the departed souls and courage to the bereaved families members to bear this irreparable loss.

He has also demanded ex- gratia relief in favour of the deceased families and free medical treatment to the injured passengers as the state is duty-bound to make Transport facilities safe for travel .
