Influence of Dialogue

Dialogue is very indispensable part of a civilized system. Dialogue, listening to others and sharing our own beliefs with others, shouldn’t be just a choice for our politicians, business leaders. It should be a must. In a plural system like ours or in a multi-party political system, dialogue is a crucial path for the promotion of amity and unison in the country. And above all, dialogue is rooted in the nature and dignity of human beings.
It is a known fact that in any fruitful dialogue, one can compare diverse points of view and examine disagreements. And in era of disputes, constructive dialogue should be invigorated at all times on key national and electoral issues and ensure that the concerns of all key players are adequately addressed while solving disputes.
One cannot underscore the reality that dialogue must result in compromises, consensus or some other agreements that all sides accept as legitimate. An overemphasis on one side of the equation can threaten our entire democratic undertaking.
If our politicians and their supporters perceive democracy as nothing more than a forum on which they can press their demands, the nation can shatter from within.
If those in government exert excessive pressure, as we saw in curbing the voice of anti-corruption activists then everything would collapse. We have to accept the inevitability of pluralism, of diversity as well as the necessity for tolerance. It is for this reason that the culture of democracy is so important to develop. In any constructive dialogue, we should learn to negotiate with others, to compromise and to work within the constitutional system. We should also learn how to argue peaceably, how to pursue our goals in a democratic manner and ultimately, how to live in a world of diversity.
Human societies can solve their problems only by holding result oriented dialogues.
