India To Buy Israeli Drones To Compete With Pakistan

In response to Pakistan’s usage of a home-made drone, India has speeded up the plans to buy drones from Israel. This will enable the military to carry out the strikes with less risks to Indian forces.

The advancement of Pakistans and Chinas warfare capabilities led the military to reinforce the government about the delivery from Israel. The idea to get the Isreali Herons was earlier shared three years ago.

The Israeli Unnamed Aerial Vehicles (UAV’S) already stay positioned along the mounts of Kashmir in addition to the disputed border with China.

The Indian Government had approved air force’s request to acquire 10 Heron TP drones from Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI), in September, as per an air force official.

The plan to buy Herons is estimated at $400 million.

A former head of government-funded Centre for Land Welfare Studies in New Delhi, Gurmeet Kanwal said that the armed Herons due to enter Indian Service by the end of 2016 will give the air force deep-strike capability.

“Indian drones are being shot down as soon as they show up on Pakistani radars,” Kanwal added.

On the other hand mutual suspicion is likely to rise with the coming of drones at the time when the ties are strained.
