If incentives were the sole purpose, why PC asked youth to pick gun in 1990s: AIP to Lone

Srinagar | June 24 (PTK): Awami Itihad Party (AIP) has reacted sharply to the remarks of Sajad Lone that Kashmiris needs a healing touch to merge with the Indian mainstream.

Party Spokesman in a statement issued today has said that the only healing touch Kashmiris need is resolution of Political dispute of J&K through Right to Self Determination.

He said, “Those seeking incentives for Kashmiris for their merger into the Indian mainstream should realise that whatsoever has been happening in Jammu & Kashmir since last 29 years has a context and the losses, tragedies, humiliations and sufferings suffered by Kashmiris cannot be compensated by the incentives. Kashmiris have not sacrificed one lakh lives to get petty incentives from Indian State.”

The spokesman reminded Social Welfare minister that he should not forget that till recent past his party has been rejecting the incentives and claiming a political settlement to the dispute.

The spokesman added that all what Kashmiris have suffered was not a natural calamity but reaction of an organised resistance movement initiated by Pro freedom leaders of which Peoples conference has been a part and parcel.

“Sajad Lone should also remember that like other Pro Freedom parties, his party had its own militant outfit called ‘Albaraq’ and Indian State often held militant outfits and resistance leaders responsible for the destruction. “If just incentives were the objective to get merged into the Indian main stream then Peoples Conference should apologise for its role it has played in the history of Jammu & Kashmir as we could have got all these incentives without facing so much of death and destruction,” AIP concluded.
