The spokesman stated that the unprovoked firing on the LOC has only worsened the situation, adding, there seems to be a sustained campaign both on part of Indian armed forces and Indian media to divert the narrative by creating war frenzy on the LOC to cover the grave atrocities committed by the Indian state forces in Kashmir.

Hurriyat (M) said that while the world community was seriously taking note of the happenings in Kashmir censuring the Indian state for human rights violations and using repressive force to crush the freedom struggle in Kashmir, the Indian aggression on the borders is a clear indication that it wants to cover up in Kashmir which so far has claimed lives of Over 90 persons, left 300 blinded and injured more than 12000 people due to excessive use of force against the unarmed Kashmiris. The spokesman said it is unfortunate that such diversionary tactics are being used just to divert the focus from the current Kashmir uprising .Instead of blowing the war bugle, GOI and the Indian media should introspect and discuss as to why the situation in Kashmir has turned so bloody and look at ways and means of resolving the problem rather than turning a blind eye towards the real issue, and heating up the borders to shift focus. The spokesman reiterated that Hurriyat conference strongly states that Kashmir is an internationally recognised dispute which needs a serious dialogue among the three stake holders to hammer out a solution in accordance with the wishes and political aspirations of the people, and that is the only guarantee of peace in the region.

Hurriyat (M) spokesman also expressed grief and over the killing of yet another Kashmiri youth, Muzaffar Ahmad of Chek Kawoosa, Narbal, who succumbed to his injuries in indiscriminate pellet firing by government forces before Eid-ul-Adha and extended its sympathies and solidarity with the family of the martyred youth, stressing that these oppressive tactics would not cow Kashmiri people into submission, the spokesman said repression has never been able to suppress any resistance movement in the world.
