Hurriyat Conference JK calls for election boycott Pays tributes to Muhammad Shafi Sheikh

Srinagar, Feb 19: A delegation from Hurriyat Conference Jammu Kashmir led by Shabir Ahmad Shah Tuesday visited Zaloorah Sopore to express solidarity with the family of Shaheed Muhammad Shafi Sheikh. The delegation comprised of Muslim Conference Chairman, Shabir Ahmad Dar, Wajhat Qureshi of JKLF (R), Ajaz Ahmad, Muhammad Yasin Ataai, Bilal Ahmad Shah of Muslim League, Nazir Ahmad Dar and dozens of Hurriyat activists.

Shabir Ahmad Shah while paying glowing tributes to Shaheed Muhammad Shafi Sheikh said the deceased had been at the fore front in struggle against Indian military occupation from last 20 years.  “His performance of bravery and valor is worthy to follow, Hurriyat Conference pays great tributes to the brave son of soil,” he said.

Shah reiterated that no one will be allowed to play with the sacred blood of martyrs and that Hurriyat Conference will lead the mission of martyrs to its logical end. “India with its nefarious designs and tactics can never suppress the freedom spirit of Kashmiris. In fact, the more force India will exert upon us the more we will rise against it,” Shah added.

Shah said India with its military might is massacring the people of Kashmir, violating the human rights and the chastity of our women just for its petty personal interests. “Still Kashmiris are committed to their mission of freedom movement. Freedom is our right and Hurriyat Conference with its leadership and activists is fighting for the same.”

Appealing people to boycott the upcoming polls, Shah said that taking part in elections tantamount to dishonesty with the blood of martyrs. “We will continue to offer sacrifices till the achievement of freedom.”

The delegation also visited the residence of Director, Council for Human Rights, renowned writer and political analyst, Syed Nazir Geelani at Sheeri, Baramulla to express solidarity with him on the sad demise of his father, Saad ud Din Geelani and offered Fateha prayers for the deceased. Apart from Shabir Ahmad Shah and Shabir Ahmad Dar, many other Hurriyat activists were in the delegation.
