DDC inagurates “one bottle one plant” intiative at GHSS kulgam

Kulgam, June, 18: Deputy commissioner Kulgam Dr. Shameem Ahmad wani today, kick  started  a novel initiative ” One bottle  one plant” under  “Ek Prithvi” project of WWF-india at goverment Girls Higher secondary school kulgam that was recently launched by the Directorate of School Education in collaboration with WWF-India.

On the occassion the school authorities briefed the DDC that Cold drink bottles will be used in making the vertical culinary, fruit, herbal, and ornamental walls. Every student of the institution is supposed to plant a sapling  of her choice in the bottle for which ,the student whose name, roll no. Class will be marked on the bottle, has to take care and look after the bottle through out the academic session.

DDC applauded the efforts of the school authorities for introducing such novel initiatives and said that such initiatives have a great significance in presence scenario.

Giving details of the programme Principal said that the program is supposed to serve in Plantation for greening the fencing of school premises, minimise the wastes and utilise the same for the protection of the  environment, Nurturing future environment leader and to Inculcating sense of belongingness and more among students.

DDC later inspected various blocks of the school and also take stock of developmental works in the school.
