Constructed though PMGSY Aloosa Bandipora road causing inconvenience to commuters

Baramulla, Jan 31 (KNB): The Aloosa Bandipora road which is being constructed and widened under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojna (PMGSY) has been badly hit due to  recent rainfall.

According to the locals, because of the road widening, PMGSY department two days back loaded the material on the road which skidded off due to the recent rains thus causing inconvenience to the people.
“Two days before some material was put on the road by a contractor who is from Kupwara and after the rains it came out, we are not even able to walk on this road, two accidents also happened in past two days because of this”, said a local
The normal traffic on the road has also been affected due to the skidding off of the material and two accidents were also reported because of that.
“I do not understand that how can they work and give tenders to any contractor in winter season when the work on roads is completed till September and then started in May June again, but it seems that all they want is money and they do not care about the seasons and rains”. said another local.
While talking to Kashmir News Beruea Sunil Kher, Xen PMGSY said that “immediately after getting the complain, the AEE was sent on the site to look into all possible angles of taking off the material. One JCP is also on work and we will make sure that people do not face any more inconvenience”.
Further talking about that why this work of road widening was taken at such a crucial time said that “I will make sure and take into consideration that we will start work only after the winter season is over”.

Despite repeated call DC Bandipora Sajad Hussian Ganie could not be contacted for the same. (KNB)
