Chief PMG launches “Customer First” campaign in J&K from Lakhanpur

In a move to bring people closer to Post Offices and provide them customer friendly services the Department of Posts has launched “Customer First” campaign in Jammu and Kashmir. The campaign today formally launched by Sh. John Samuel, Chief Postmaster General, J&K from Lakhanpur, the entry point to the state of Jammu and Kashmir after dedicating the modernized Post Office at Lakhanpur to the people under “Project Arrow.”
During the campaign various activities will be carried out focusing on identification of potential customers, customer satisfaction and encouraging staff to know the relevance of customers.
The fully modernized and computerized post office from where the “Customer First” Campaign has been launched will also provide Post Shop services, Philately services in addition to mail services, Speed Post, Parcel and Banking services. The modernized Post office has been designed on modern lines and provided with best infrastructure to provide postal facilities to locals and tourists under one roof.
Mr. John Samuel, Chief Post Master General speaking on the occasion said since the business volumes of India Post in J&K has seen tremendous growth in the recent years the department is now focusing to strengthen its relations with its customers & the Campaign will prove a mile stone in this direction.
“The campaign will focus on identification of potential customers business as well as individual, their requirements, customer satisfaction for which a survey will be conducted by providing feedback forms and encouraging staff members to know the relevance of Customers by providing them best available services at post offices including better ambiance and pleasant atmosphere” said Mr. Samuel.
The chief PMG further added that people can write to him directly sharing their experience of postal services for further improvement and a link will also be provided on the J&K Postal Circle’s website www.jkpost.gov.infor feedback during the campaign.
“Every origination is making efforts to increase business. But it is not possible without customer friendly relations and as India Post is also in business in different fields it is imperative to have sound relations between people visiting Post Offices and the Department” said the Chief PMG while informing that “during the campaign people will be encouraged to visit post offices, know about the services available and interact with the staff which has been imparted the soft skill training.”
He said the modernized Lakhanpur Post Office identified for the launch of“Customer First” campaign as thousands of tourists from different parts of country are coming in J&K and being the gateway to the state of Jammu and Kashmir is an ideal place for being with this endeavor. Chief PMG added that modernized Post Office Complex has been tailor made to fit the needs of customers as well as arriving tourists having Post Shop facilities.
