Cabinet sub-committee formed for restructuring of KPS: Fin Min

J&K Police a disciplined force, no question of protest leave: Senior police officer




Srinagar, Dec 10 : Dismissing the reports which had appeared in a section of press today that there was any differences between PDP and BJP over the cadre restructuring of Kashmir Police Service (KPS), Minister for Finance Dr Haseeb Drabu Saturday said a cabinet sub-committee has been formed on the instructions of the Chief Minister to look into the issue.Talking to KNS Drabu said, “When the issue of cadre restructuring of KAS had come, that time also a cabinet committee had been set up. Similarly, this time a cabinet sub-committee has been formed for the restructuring of KPS. We will submit the report in the next cabinet meeting.”

The committee headed by Drabu, has Minister for Education Nayeem Akhtar and CAPD Minister Choudhary Zulfikar Ali from PDP and Health Minister Bali Baghat, Forest Minister Choudhary Lal Singh and Industries and Commerce Minister Prakash Chander Ganga from the BJP as the members.


A senior police officer while dismissing the rumors that some police officers were proceeding on leave over the issue of cadre restructuring said, “Some officers have highlighted a service issue which doesn’t mean that they are unhappy and would proceed on leave. J&K Police is a disciplined force and there is no question of protest leave.”

Meanwhile, according to KNS, Haseeb Drabu has provided 40 transformers, an ambulance, an X-ray machine, 6 Scooties to the physically challenged persons in his Rajpora constituency under various CSR tie-ups.

The Minister also distributed financial assistance worth more than Rs.48 lakh among 169 beneficiaries under various welfare schemes of the Construction Workers Welfare Board. He also distributed cheques among 67 beneficiaries of IAY and Swach Bharat Mission identified by the District Rural Development Department. The cheques worth Rs 12.92 lakh were distributed among 35 beneficiaries of IAY for construction of houses and among 32 beneficiaries under Swach Bharat Mission to construct Individual Household Latrines in their houses.
