Bandipora Youth gets prestigious Yuva Puraskaar in literature

Srinagar, June 20: A young scholar, Social and cultural Activist Aadil Mohi-ud-Din gets Yuva  Puraskaar (Young Writers Award) for his book Zol Dith Sadras from the Akedmi of Letters New Delhi (Sahatiya Akedmi)

Zol Dith Sadras زول دتھ سدرس is his first collection of articles published in the year 2015 and has won appreciation in literary circles. scholars like Farooq Nazki ,Prof Majrooh Rashid ,Prof Shad Ramzan ,Dr Aziz Hajini have recorded their comments on this book .


This book is collection of write ups in Kashmiri where in Aadil has very beautifully tried to lend Kashmiri poetry in a new school of thought and has very artistically analyzed the writings of the Kashmiri writers. Besides this Aadil has introduced “what criticism is” “New criticism, Aesthetics in this book which is first of its kind.

Aadil is a scholar and writer by birth belongs to a middle class family from an economically backward village of Paribal- two kilometers away from Famous Town of Hajin. He did his graduation from Amar Singh College and Bachelors in Education from Government college of Education MA Road Sringar.

He also did his MA, M Phil from department of Kashmir University and currently perusing his PhD program titled “Modern and Post Modern Trends in Kashmiri Literature” under the Guidance and supervision of Prof Majrooh Rashid from Kashmir University

According To Farooq Nazki “Aesthetics” has been for this first time discussed in Adil’s book in kashmiri language.

Besides Research, Reading and writing Aadil is a very active and well know social and cultural Activist who has participated in numerous national and international workshops, seminars and cultural programs.




This is pertinent to mention that Sahitya Akedmi New Delhi Is giving this award every year to one of the writers who’s book is published one year before on the basis of merit .This award is decided by a panel of experts among the books published in the language’s.

Before Aadil two more young writers of Kashmiri language have been awarded for the contribution. Aadil has the privilege to become the first youth writer from dist Bandipora to achieve this success
