ARMY REFUTES ALLEGATIONS ON KILLING OF HORSES*

The Army strongly refutes the allegations of any involvement in the killing of 13 horses in Prisal, Kulgam on 25 Sep as reported in some newspapers.

The nature of allegations that the Army had purposely “rammed their Casspier repeatedly into the livestock” is viciously fabricated and even bizarre, evidently leveled with ulterior motives. It is a clear attempt at vilification of the fair image of the Army and evinces a pattern in some sections of the media to malign the security forces especially in these sensitive times. It is also an insult to the intelligence of the readers to suggest that any one vehicle could cause such an incident where so many animals would continue to remain in the tracks to be knocked down by a vehicle while it goes to and fro.

The media is requested to corroborate any incident involving the security forces from the concerned authorities before publishing a one sided narrative.
