ARMY CDR FELICITATES TEACHERS OF GOODWILL SCHOOLS AT UDHAMPUR

Udhampur, 19 Dec 17. Lt Gen D Anbu, UYSM, AVSM, YSM, SM, GOC-in-C Northern Command today felicitated teachers of Army Goodwill Schools at an award ceremony held in Udhampur.  The awards were given to 18 teachers from different Army Goodwill Schools from entire J&K.  These teachers were selected after a stringent process based on their teaching ability and use of modern teaching aids.

The awards were sponsored by Satya Bharti Foundation and included cash prize, trophy and a certificate. At the end the Army Cdr applauded the excellent work put in by the Army Goodwill Schools in contributing towards improvement of education standards in the state of J&K. He also exhorted the teachers to be role models and mould the students to be responsible citizens of the country.  Mr Mohd Ashraf Magrey of AGS, Ziran, first prize winner in the senior secondary level category thanked the Army for providing a platform for the teachers to showcase their teaching abilities and making a positive contribution in improving the education climate of the state.

Northern Command is running 45 Army Goodwill Schools under Project Sadbhavana which provide education to 15144 students and employs 800 teachers.  Over a period of time these schools have become islands of excellence and are contributing positively to the over all development of youth in J&K.  ​
