ALOOSA RESIDENTS ACCUSES ADMIN FOR NOT ISSUING NOTICE TO CHOP OFF POPLAR TREES

Bandipora, May 27(KNB): Inhabitants of Aloosa Bandipora have accused administration for not issuing notice to cut down the Russian Poplars around Panchayat that are hundreds in number and are creating health hazards among locals especially children and elder people.




People residing around the panchayat alleged that despite J&K High court orders, administration have failed to chop off poplar trees putting the lives of common masses.

Malik Musaib resident of Aloosa said,”Pollen seeds of poplars is adversely affecting health of general public mostly elderly people and children, the pollen seeds are the major source of allergies and has given rise to chest diseases in our locality which is becoming life threatening for us.”




He further said,”our prime demand to administration is to chop off all the poplars surrounding our houses that are not only creating health hazards but has also become a threat as during strong wind there are chances of falling of these trees on our houses.”

Another local Javeed Ahmad Bhat said,”The cottony pollen which the plants shed is becoming the major source of respiratory diseases, regardless HC directions the administration has failed to cut down Russian poplars in our locality leaving a huge poplution in threat to acute pollen allergy.”




While talking to Kashmir News Bureau, BDO Aloosa said,” Notice has been issued today for the cut down of poplar trees near panchayat at Aloosa and auction will be on Saturday.”(KNB)
