Advisor (BK) held videoconference with DCs, CMOs

 

He informed PPTs, masks, gloves and other logistics are abundantly available in the valley

SRINAGAR, MAY 18: Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Baseer Ahmad Khan, held a videoconference meeting with the all Deputy Commissioners, Chief Medical Officers, Director Skims Srinagar and Director Skims Bemina regarded the measures taken for the containment of covid-19 virus and preparedness of the district administrations and health department.

The meeting was also attended by IG Kashmir; Director Health services Kashmir, Principal GMC, and Director Airport Srinagar in person.

During the meeting advisor said, ‘as we progress to achieve objective for the containment of covid virus, focus should remain over administrative protocol and treatment protocol.’ While stressing upon the quarantine process he said testing of persons arriving from various parts of the country shall be conducted, according they should be sent to administrative or home quarantine.’

Advisor khan said that doctors, medical staff, police, and district administration officers and officials are the front line of warriors. He appreciated their efforts during the pandemic and directed Director Health Services of Kashmir to provide sufficient protective gear to front line workers.

Advisor (BK) directed all the DCs to prepare list of the people aged above 60 years and the patients with chronic ailments. He further directed all administrative officers that these two categories shall be given proper care and attention so that they don’t get affected with the virus.

He also directed DCs to make sure of the home delivery of the essential commodities in the containment and other zones.

Director health services Kashmir said the protective gears for the medical staff are abundantly available and there is no dearth of the PPTs, gloves and sanitizers. He said adequate measures have been taken to maintain the constant supply of the equipments. However the advisor informed the meeting that there is a buffer stock of all the logistics available in the valley.

As a couple of police officers have been tested positive in Anantnag, Advisor Kahn directed DCs to conduct the testing in district police lines. He further told principal GMC to conduct random and pool testing in the police control room Srinagar.

In view of the Shab -I-Qadr, Jumat ul Vida and Eid, The Baser Khan passed strict orders to DCs to enforce SOP of social distancing and said that no gathering shall be allowed in any case. He said no religious gather would be allowed during the Shab I Qadar, Jumat ul Vida and On Eid. In this regard he directed district administrations to hold meetings with religious leaders, community leaders and elders of the society in their respective districts and convey them no gathering should take place. Also he said where ever the SOP is violated the imams shall be hold responsible.

Regarding the restart of developmental activities the advisor emphasized upon the start of works under NREGA, JKPCC, R&B, Jal Shakti and other departments. He told DCs passes issued to workers should be honored everywhere. Meanwhile he directed them to educate the workers regarding social distancing at work .He emphasized upon the NERGA to be started works so that the common people would get relief during the covid pandemic.(KNB)
