‘80 to 85 militants, mostly foreigners, present in North Kashmir’

LeT behind killing of local BSF constable in Hajin: DIG North



Srinagar, Sep 28 : Stating that 80 to 85 militants are present in north Kashmir out of which majority are foreigners, DIG North Kashmir Nitish Kumar Thursday blamed Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) militant outfit for the killing of off-duty Border Security Force (BSF) man Rameez Ahmad Parray in Hajin area of Bandipora district.

According to KNS correspondent, Kumar while addressing media persons in Baramulla today said the LeT commander Mehmood Bhai carried out the killing of Parray. “He was accompanied by few more militants when the killing took place,” said Kumar.

He said there are some 80 to 85 militants present in North Kashmir. “Most of the militants are foreigners,” he said.

Also Director General of Police SP Vaid said that 3-4 militants barged inside Parray’s home and shot him dead.

“3 to 4 militants came to the BSF jawan’s residence and started shooting. He was dragged out of his house and shot,” said Vaid.

Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister and National Conference Working President Omar Abdullah has termed the killing as “abominable”.

“What a terrible incident. This is abominable. Heartfelt condolences to the family of Rameez Parrey.

Hope the injured recover soon,” Abdullah wrote on micro-blogging website Twitter. (KNS)
