40 more positive cases in J&K, tally jumps to 1489

 

Srinagar, May 22 (KNB): The number  of total positive cases of novel Coronavirus rose to 1489 in Jammu  and Kashmir, after 40 more people tested positive on Friday.

As per the reports reached to KNB among the 40 new cases, 18 are from Shopian, 01 from Srinagar, 02 from Anantnag, 01 from Bandipora, 03 from Baramulla, 01 from Kulgam, 01 from Budgam, 02 from Pulwama, 04 from Samba, 03 from Rajori, 01 from Poonch, 03 from Kupwara.

Out of 40 cases ,16 are from from Shopian district – confirmed at viral diagnostic lab at SKIMS Bemina, while seven at Microbiology Lab of CD Hospital and remaining at Jammu and private labs.

Moreover, 2088 samples were processed at viral diagnostic laboratory at SKIMS Soura ten among them came out to be positive for covid-19 including include three persons each from Baramulla and Kupwara, two from Shopian, 25 year old woman from Palpora and while one each is from Srinagar 19 year old man from Hyderpora and 23 year old man from Budgam Sheikhpora.

Meanwhile, 36 cases were recovered today which include 20 from Anantnag district, 02 each from Kulgam and Srinagar, 04 from Shopian, 05 from Budgam, 01 each from Bandipora, Kupwara and Samba.

As of now, a total of 1489 cases are confirmed in Jammu and Kashmir with 749 cases active, 20 deaths and 720 recoveries so far.(KNB)
