36 Govt. employees terminated for anti-national activities

Srinagar, Oct 20: In a height of scuttling dissent, JK Government has dismissed around 36 employees from their services on allegations of indulging in anti-national activities after dossiers were prepared against these employees, including Assistant Registrar of Kashmir University.

As a matter of fact, The dismissal orders were issued by respective departments . On the other hand, Employee leaders and employee unions have termed the move as undemocratic.

Pertinently,the dossier against 36 Government employees for fomenting trouble in Kashmir and inciting youth to violence was prepared by the Police and was sent to Chief Secretary’s office from where it was sent to respective heads of the departments for dismissal of these employees for indulging in anti-national activities.

Interestingly, out of these 36 employees who were and will be dismissed from services, 20 are from Education Department, 3 from Food and Supplies Department, two each from Revenue, Agriculture and Public Health Engineering Departments and, one each from Rural Development Department, Animal Husbandry, Accounts and Treasuries, Fisheries, Forest, Health and Fire and Emergency Services departments.




Government has invoked Article 126 of Jammu and Kashmir Constitution for dismissing these employees and some of these employees have been arrested and booked under PSA, some have been released on bail while others are evading arrest.
