27 October is observed as black day by the large section of people of Kashmir valley against what they term the occupation of Indian security forces.

As a matter of fact, Kashmir is one of the oldest disputed territories, only comparable with Palestine. The  struggle has resulted in more than 70,000 deaths by some estimates. 27th October, 1947, is a date firmly etched in the minds of the Kashmiris.

History sources reveals, India had landed their troops in Kashmir this day before 69 years ago against the wishes of the Kashmiri locals. During the partition of sub-continent , the people of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K)  had been  given right to decide whether they will go to join India or Pakistan. But, later Dogra Raja, Sir Hari Singh,  who was ruling  over the J&K that time in connivance with the Indian Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru and Lord Mountbatten, the then Governor General decided to join India.

According to Human rights Kashmiri citizens are dealt with differently from the rest of India’s population by the draconian laws under the acts like  Jammu & Kashmir Public Safety Act, under which they are jailed for two years if considered likely to commit subversive acts. An estimated 20,000 are detained.

In the present scenario from july 9,  ninety five were killed and 13000 were injured in which 1300 youths got pellet injuries in their eye. However, Since the  death of poster boy Burhan Wani Kashmir is witnessing the complete shutdown across the Valley reminding this date in more harsher memories for Kashmir .
