Danish Malik, Hurriyat (G) senior leader of Bandipora district emerged as a prominent face in 2016 Kashmir agitation.
On November 16, 2016 Security forces arrested Malik at Sunderwari village of North Kashmir’s Bandipora district.
“Today Danish Malik despite being quashed from PSA is preferring to stay inside Kot Balwal jail on account of tremendous fear unleashed by Bandipora police and he fears for not his life, inhuman treatment inside police station Bandipora but more wrath from the state police”.
Pertinently, few time back for appearing in court hearing Malik was brough to Bandipora court in a wretched vehicle from Jammu and 350 kilometer journey turned to be taxing on his health and to add to it faced again inhuman treatment at Bandipora Police station.
Family sources maintain that due to this level of suppression unleashead on them as of present scenario Danish Malik is preferring to remain a caged bird than to have urge to come out of jail.
“Kashmir is such a sad place wherein a person has even lost the will to come out of the jail which is cage into free atmosphere and all this due to oppression unleashed by few unprofessional police officials as is case in our Bandipora.
Danish Malik has to cater to ailing mother and father but he is being treated by the local police as criminal rather than a political leader.
We will continue to suffer as place until we have such fearful atmosphere, states a close relative of Danish Malik pleading anonymity.
The wish of Danish Malik to remain caged depicts sorry state of affairs in our state .
