Who will break the ice between PDP, BJP?

The Kashmir Scenario

‘No particular time frame for Govt. formation’

Srinagar | Mar 03 : Even though the BJP is making all the possible efforts to break the ice with its former ally PDP to again take the power corridors of J&K, the government formation will still ‘take some time’ and will not be formed “immediately”, PTK has learnt from reliable sources.

A BJP insider said that Mehbooba Mufti has expressed couple of concerns during her meeting with Ram Madhav. The PDP has demanded return of power projects, Dul Hasti is one, back to the state, and relief to flood victims, revocation of Armed Forces Special Powers Act from some areas in the state.

“These concerns and issues will be discussed with the ministries concerned to study their underlying technicalities first, which will, obviously, take time. Then the central government will decide accordingly,” he said.

“In the given situation government formation will take some time and will not be formed immediately,” he said.

BJP national General Secretary Ram Madhav had met Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president Mehbooba Mufti last month. The meeting was the first attempt from BJP to continue their alliance in the state, which is under Governor’s rule since January 9.

Though Madhav called the talks “positive” and denied any “dilution or addition” to the Agenda of Alliance and dismissed any talks on AFSPA, holding talks with separatists or any new confidence building measures.

The BJP leader described the meeting as an “ice-break”, saying the talks created a “possibility” for government formation. (PTK)
